Rachel Sarah XO

Hey guys!
So I've been really into buying dresses lately, I saw this 50's style floral dress reduced from £55 to £16 on ASOS, so I had to snap that up (although I will definitely be taking the dress up a bit as I feel it's a tad bit long, I hate being short. -.-) This is my first OOTD post, so please don't judge the awful iPhone quality photos, haha!
DRESS: ASOS - £16.50 reduced from £55 // BLAZER: NEW LOOK - £15 reduced from £25 //
BOOTS: EBAY - £24.98

Just a quick post I suppose, I might do more OOTD posts if this one gets a good response, idk I've never really had the confidence to do them before, haha.

That's all for now,
Rachel. xo

Hey guys!
So I was having a clear out of my lipsticks that I either don't like or I barely use anymore and I thought, why not do a post on the lipsticks that I can't live without. Underneath each photo of the lipsticks, I'll put the names of them and a link to where you can purchase them.

So here it goes!

(from L to R: Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in '110' - £5.49, Collection 2000 lipstick in 'Cherry Pop' - £2.99 and NYC Expert Last lipstick in 'Blue Rose' - £1.99)

The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick and the Collection 2000 lipstick are both matte lipsticks. The Collection 2000 lipstick is a little bit more drying than the Rimmel one. Whereas the NYC lipstick is a shimmery/satin finish lipstick. The Rimmel lipstick is a bright bright orange colour, the Collection 2000 lipstick is a vibrant red with a hint of orange in it and the NYC lipstick is gorgeous blue toned fuschia.

(MUA lipstick in 'Shade 2' - £1, MUA Lipstick in 'Shade 5' - £1 and Avon Kiss 'n' Go lipstick in 'Amethyst' - £1.90.)

All three lipsticks have a shimmery finish, but the MUA lipstick in 'Shade 5' has pretty rough glitter particles in it also, so I suppose it's kind of a frosty finish. The MUA lipstick in 'Shade 2' and the Avon lipstick so look quite similar, but the Avon is more of a plum colour and the MUA lipstick has more of a hint of pink in it, whereas the MUA lipstick in 'Shade 5' is a gorgeous glittery coral colour. The MUA lipstick in 'Shade 5' is the least pigmented lipstick of the three, but that's probably due to the amount of glitter in the lipstick.

(Natural Collection lipstick in 'Cranberry', Collection 2000 Little Mix lipstick in 'Perrie' - £2.99 and MAC lipstick in 'Candy Yum Yum' - £15)

The Natural Collection lipstick and the Collection 2000 lipstick are both very creamy but the Collection 2000 lipstick is more a demi-matte finish but they're both beautifully pigmented, but the MAC lipstick is very very matte and I would not recommend this lipstick if you do have very dry lips because I've never known a lipstick to cling to dry patches as much as this lipstick does, although it does wear well if you do wear a lip balm underneath it. The Natural collection lipstick in 'Cranberry' is a gorgeous dark pinky plum colour with gold shimmer throughout it. The Collection 2000 lipstick in 'Perrie' is a beautiful bright purple on the lips, it's almost quite a vibrant lilacy colour, it's definitely wearable though - you can see a full review of this lipstick here. The MAC lipstick on the other hand, is very very hard to wear, as it is an almost neon bright pink, I'd recommend it as more of a night time colour although you can definitely wear it as more of a stain if you use a lip brush.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in 'Kooky' - £3.

And finally, the MUA Luxe Lip Laquer in Kook is a very very dark purple colour (the photo isn't doing it much justice, I know), it's a very matte finish, it's extremely drying so I would recommend wear a lip balm either under or over it once it's dried. It's extremely long-lasting, but that's probably due to how matte it is. It's definitely for those who are a bit more daring when it comes to lipstick as a it is a very dark purple.

(from left to right: Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in '110', NYC Expert Last lipstick in 'Blue Rose', Collection 2000 lipstick in 'Cherry Pop', MAC lipstick in 'Candy Yum Yum', Collection 2000 Little Mix lipstick in 'Perrie', Natural Collection lipstick in 'Cranberry', MUA lipstick in 'Shade 2, MUA lipstick in 'Shade 5', Avon Kiss 'n' Go lipstick in 'Amethyst' and MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in 'Kooky')

As these were swatched on paper and in not the best lighting, the picture isn't showing the swatches true to colour, but you get the gist.

What lipsticks have you been loving lately?

That's all for now,
Rachel. xo

Hey guys!
Well would you look at that, another haul?! Let me cut a long story short, I ended up selling my DSI XL and all of the games for it as it just sits in the corner of my room collection dust and I ended up getting £75 for it, so this is what I spent the majority of the money on.

(It would turn out I doubled up on numbers on the photo, oh dear, I do apologise!)
1. Birds Nest iPhone 4/4s Case from eBay- £0.99 (free shipping)
I've seen these sort of cases loads lately and I'm a sucker for anything pink and minimalist.

2. Coral Sleeveless Skater Dress from ASOS - £12.99 (free shipping)
I'm going on holiday to Fuerteventura in August and I've already started buying Summer clothes, oh. I'm trying my hardest to put a bit more colour in my wardrobe and I'm also trying to wear more dresses, so this happened.

3. Black and White Heart Print Skater Dress from ASOS- £14.99 (free shipping)
I bought this dress because I bought a rather 'out there' looking kimono a few weeks ago (for £5 reduced from £25 in New Look, might I add) and I wanted a subtly patterned dress with no bright colours on it so it didn't clash with the floral pattern of the kimono, I also bought this for my summer wardrobe.

4. Tartan Fleece Scarf from eBay- £4.99 (£2.50 shipping)
Bit late on the tartan bandwagon I suppose, but I really was not willing to spend more than £10 on a tartan scarf and as of yesterday all of the ones I'd seen lately ranged from £12-£18 and that's a bit overpriced for a scarf, plus it's made from fleece, so it's going to be so soft and warm.

5. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 'Oxford St. Fuschia' from eBay - £2.25 (free shipping)
I don't own many light pink lipsticks and after seeing loads of swatches of this lipstick, I just fell in love with it. Plus it's not a matte lipstick, so that's good, got super chapped lips lately. :-(

6. Juno DVD from eBay- £1.20 (free shipping)
Unfortunately I bought the last DVD on the eBay listing, so the link above is the DVD listing on Amazon. I absolutely this movie, but I haven't got it in my DVD collection and I've been craving to watch it for ages but it hasn't been on TV in a while.

7. Oversized Round Sunglasses in Ombre Finish from ASOS - £10 (free shipping)
I was just browsing the sunglasses section of ASOS and omg I just fell in love with these, the weather's been pretty nice lately so I bought sunglasses, not much I can say about them really.

8. Black Faux Leather Chunky Cut Out Boots from eBay - £21.99 (£2.99 shipping)
Oh look! It's the infamous Jeffrey Campbell's Coltrane dupes! These were reduced from about £30-something so that's alright I suppose. I've been wanting a pair of these boots foreverrrr and I just can't wait for them to arrive.

9 & 10. Dumb and Dumber (£1.40) & Clerks II (£1.27) - eBay
Just movies that I adore that weren't in my movie collection so I felt the need to buy them basically.

11 & 12. Sex and The City: The Movie (£1.65) & Sex and The City 2 (£1.27) - eBay.
I've been so obsessed with the TV show lately and it's the only decent thing on TV from 12am - 5am in the morning (which seems to be my sleeping pattern lately) but I've never seen the movies so I thought now would be a good time to buy the movies.

What have you guys been buying lately? :-)

That's all for now,
Rachel. xo

Hey guys!
So last night I went on a bit of an online shopping spree, this time, I went a bit crazy on the DVD's.
There's this amazing seller on Amazon called 'zoverstocks' and they sell used DVD's on there for 1p with Amazon's standard £1.26 postage price.
Admittedly, the majority of these DVD's are ones I've owned previously and lost, like Mean Girls, or ones I've already since but don't own on DVD. (I'm trying to expand on my DVD collection.)
I also bought a few make up bits that I've been missing from my collection for quite some time.

1. Bride of Chucky: 1p (+£1.26 shipping)
Bride of Chucky has been one of my favourite films for a long long time, but I've never actually owned it on DVD, it's just always a film that if it's ever on Sky Movies, I will watch it every time. The Chucky franchise are my favourite films in general and I'm trying to get them all on DVD.

2. Mean Girls: 1p (+£1.26 shipping)
Mean Girls is everyone's favourite movie, let's be honest. I've owned it on DVD for years now but recently I lost the disc and I gave up looking, so I just bought it again and for £1.27, you can't really complain.

3. American Beauty: 1p (+£1.26 shipping)
I've never seen American Beauty before actually, but my mum's been recommending it to me for ages now, I did actually buy it for £2 from eBay a few months ago, before realising that I'd bought the Region 1 version which isn't playable on any UK bought device unless you hack your DVD player or whatever, so I bought it again, but this time I made sure it's Region 2.

4. A Bucket of Blood (1960) / House on Haunted Hill (1958) / The Ghoul (1933): 98p (+£1.26 shipping)
I absolutely adore black and white horror movies (well, I just love horror movies in general) but the awful make up and special effects just amuse me so much and I bought this purely for House on Haunted Hill, but it actually worked out more expensive to buy that by itself and then I found it in a boxset with two other black and white horror movies. I was in my element, haha! Plus, wasn't Vincent Price just gorgeous?

5. Fight Club: 1p (+£1.26 shipping)
I've only seen Fight Club a couple of time but it's basically a classic and it needs to be in my collection, so I bought it, that's all I can say really.

6. Drive (2012): 73p (+£1.26 shipping)
Drive is also one of my favourite films (I have a lot of favourites ok) and I own every other Ryan Gosling movie on DVD except for this one so I had to buy it when I saw how cheap it was.

7. Burt's Bees Pink Grapefruit Lip Balm: £2.49 (free shipping)
I've recently ran out of the Beeswax Lip Balm by Burt's Bees and it's safe to say that it's my favourite lip balm, I can never find Burts Bees lip balms in any of my local drugstores, so I resulted to ordering it online, turns out it's about £1 cheaper aswell! If I like the flavoured lip balms, I'll probably buy the mango flavoured one next.

8. Sleek Face Contour Kit in 'Light': £4.67 (free shipping)
I saw this has been reduced from £6.49 to £4.67 and I just had to buy it, I'd be eyeing up the face form kit for ages and I wasn't sure whether it was worth it, since I rarely wear blush, so when I ran out of the contour powder and highlighter, there'd be this little blush left in some huge pointless packaging, so I thought I'd buy the contour kit and the blush seperately. I'm excited to try it though.

9. Sleek Blush in 'Rose Gold': £3.23 (free shipping)
As I said in the above post about the contour kit, I bought this blush seperately as I adore the colour but I know I won't get as much use out of it as the contour kit and the packaging would be a problem if I bought the face form kit so. It's a gorgeous colour and from the reviews I've read, it's a perfect colour for pale people like myself.

Let me know any movies that you recommend, whether they're on DVD or Netflix. :-)
That's all for now,
Rachel. xo

Hey guys!

So, this week's been pretty busy I suppose. Was in Norwich on Saturday with Abbie and her boyfriend Jon, went shopping and what not, it was cute, especially since I hadn't seen her in what felt like forever and I'd never met her boyfriend properly prior to Saturday, so that was fun. I then went back to Norwich with Shauna on Monday because the Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway Supercomputer was in Norwich doing filming. For those UK folk that don't know what that is, it's a Saturday night TV show and Ant & Dec are famous TV presenters over here and they go to different cities around the UK with this 'supercomputer' with the chance to win a holiday and all you have to do is act like an idiot and make the crowd laugh and you're almost guaranteed the tickets for the holiday. So anyway, me and Shauna were stood front row in the crowd and the camera's were on our face a lot of the time and chances are is we're going to be on TV acting like loons in the crowd. Shauna then decided it would be hilarious to join in on this couple's dance as they wanted the crowd to join in and Shauna got in front of the Supercomputer's front cameras and was line dancing. It's definitely going to be an interesting watch.

On Tuesday, I'd been invited to go to a job interview at a local doctor's surgery for an admin apprenticeship job, it was actually way better than I was expecting. I got there 10 minutes early, I was then taken into the interview room where I was told 'don't consider this an interview as such, think of it more of as an informal chat', they told me about the job, found out about my anxiety (probaby went through my medical records, this is the NHS we're talking about) and the women were so lovely. I then met the ladies who'd I'd be working with if I get the job and I then got a tour of the surgery, so that was nice. The women who interviewed me were always smiling and laughing at stuff I was saying and they said that if they weren't already aware of my anxiety, they wouldn't even think I suffer with an anxiety disorder as I seemed quite 'cheery and confident' so that was nice to hear.

So I'm actually supposed to be at a job interview right now, a few hours ago I decided it really isn't worth it. For an apprentices salary, I'd be earning £400 a month and £129 of that would be spent on monthly bus fare and then £80 a month would be spent on rent to pay my parents, so really, working 40 hours a week to only earn just under £200 a month is a bit ridiculous. (The reason the bus fare is so much is that this job is about 40 minutes away and I have to get two buses whereas the other job is a mile away and a 5 minutes bus ride away and it's only £21 a month to get there)
So me and my mum decided it isn't really worth me going to the interview, because I told her that even if I did get offered the job, I wouldn't take it because it's just not worth it.

So, this week's been pretty fun I suppose, now I'm just playing the waiting game and waiting to hear back from Tuesday's interview. Stupid me, I forgot to ask how long it would likely be that they'd get in touch with me, wah.

What have you guys been up to lately?
That's all for now,
Rachel. xo

Hello you lovely people,
Well this month, my blogging schedule completely went out the window. I ended up doing one post a week, hahah, oops. March will be better, I promise!

Falling - Haim.
Engine 45 - The Ghost Inside.
You & I - Bury Tomorrow.

Movies I've been loving this month:
Wreck-It Ralph, The Great Gatsby, Shutter Island, Movie 43 and Maniac.
I really didn't watch many movies this month as I was very much into watching TV shows on Netflix, haha.

TV Shows I've been loving this month:
Extreme Couponing (got through 3 seasons of that in 2 days) and The Office (US) I watched all seasons in 5 days, I feel like a part of me is empty now, hahaha, I fell in love with Jim and Pam's relationship, aw.

Drinks I've been loving this month:
Dandelion and Burdock and Caffeine Free Diet Coke, mm.

Food I've been loving this month:
Lemon Mousse's from Morrisons, they're perfect.

Make Up items I've been loving this month:
Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo's (see review here), Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in '110' and '107' and finally, NYC's Expert Last Lipstick in 'Blue Rose'.

Life Favourites:
Well this month, me and Abbie organised to go to Slam Dunk Festival in May with her and her boyfriend, wooo third wheeling! No but it's going to be great. :3 (It's going to be so nerve-racking, but I know I can do it. I went last year, had a few panic attacks but I still had a great time.) I also got invited to go to two job interviews in March, one on the 4th March and another on the 7th and they're both for apprenticeships within adminstration with the NHS.

Am I looking forward to anything next month?
Well, if I get offered a job, then starting my new job, if not I'll be looking forward to sitting at home, watching Netflix and job hunting, woo!

I hope you all had a great February, let me know if anything exciting happened in February or if you're doing anything fun in March. :3

That's all for now,
Rachel. xo
